All the Consultants also work from the Liver Transplant Unit based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston. The liver unit in Birmingham has a world-wide reputation for innovation and excellence and is one of the biggest liver transplant units in Europe, offering expertise in all aspects of liver disease.
At your first appointment you will see a Consultant Hepatologist who will evaluate your problem and arrange appropriate investigations. Once a diagnosis has been reached your Consultant will discuss treatment options with you and, if necessary, refer you to an expert in liver surgery or cancer management.
